Bhopal, 9 December (HS). Once again a big change can be seen in the weather of Madhya Pradesh. Bone-chilling cold is going to occur in most of the district from Monday. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of severe cold after the next 24 hours. The department says that at present the direction of the winds is northern and north-westerly. Because of this, there is a possibility of a decrease in the minimum temperature from tomorrow. However, there may be partly cloudy sky at some places in the districts of Jabalpur and Shahdol divisions.
According to the Meteorological Department, jet stream winds are blowing at a speed of 260 km per hour at a height of 12.6 km over north-west India. A western disturbance is also becoming active here. Because of this the snow will melt and then the wind speed will increase. The effect of which will be seen in the state after next 24 hours i.e. from 10th December. Actually, due to Western Disturbance the weather will change in the northern areas and mountains. There will also be snowfall on the mountains during this period. If this happens, after the snow melts, icy air will come to Madhya Pradesh. Due to which the mercury will fall by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the entire state including Bhopal-Indore. At the same time, there was light drizzle in some districts of the eastern part of the state on Sunday. Due to this the day temperature has also declined.
Talking about the temperature of the state, on Sunday the maximum temperature was recorded at 24.6 degrees in Rewa, 26 degrees in Satna, 24.4 degrees in Sidhi, 25.8 degrees in Malajkhand and 24.4 degrees Celsius in Pachmarhi. Talking about big cities, the temperature was 27.8 degrees in Bhopal, 27.5 degrees in Indore, 26.7 degrees in Gwalior, 28 degrees in Ujjain and 28.3 degrees in Jabalpur. Gwalior-Rajgarh cities are the coldest at night. The mercury here was 9.6 degrees Celsius on Saturday-Sunday night. The temperature was recorded at 9.7 degrees in Girwar of Shajapur, 10.2 degrees in Khajuraho, 10.3 degrees in Chitrakoot-Naugaon and 10.6 degrees in Pachmarhi. A fall in mercury has also been seen in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and Ujjain. Gwalior’s minimum night temperature was 9.3 degrees Celsius. Apart from this, 12.1 degrees were recorded in Bhopal, 12.8 degrees in Ujjain, 13.8 degrees in Jabalpur and 14.3 degrees in Indore.
