Chance of heavy to very heavy rain and snowfall in Himalayan region
A western disturbance is active as a cyclonic circulation over eastern Afghanistan, while another fresh western disturbance is located as a cyclonic circulation over and around Iraq. Due to this, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain and snowfall in the Western Himalayan region from January 2 to January 6. There may be rain with snowfall in Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh on January 5. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of light to scattered rain in the plains of North-West India. North-West India includes the states of Delhi, UP, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan. A cyclonic circulation is forming over the Indian Ocean and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal, which may cause thunderstorms and lightning over Tamil Nadu.
