Lawyers say that we do not accept the judges facing corruption charges. We demand that they should not be transferred from Delhi High Court to Allahabad High Court. Earlier on this issue, the Allahabad Bar Association had said, “The Allahabad High Court is not a dustbin, where the judges accused of corruption are sent for justice.”

In protest against the transfer of Justice Yashwant Verma, the High Court Bar Association has started an indefinite strike from 25 March today. This strike has the support of High Court Bar Association across the country.
Last Monday, Anil Tiwari, president of the Allahabad High Court Bar Association, held an emergency meeting in which it was decided to continue the protest against the Supreme Court collegium’s decision. In the meeting, Anil Tiwari also said that the Bar Association has sent a letter of support to 22 High Courts of the country on this issue.
Allahabad High Court is not a ‘dustbin’
Anil Tiwari said that our fight is not against any judge but against the system. Here are hardworking judges, now their image is in danger. The Allahabad High Court is considered as ‘Kacradan’. If a judge is being transferred on charges of corruption, it is being transferred to the Allahabad High Court. Instead of removing the deficiencies, if people with deficiencies are transferred here, the system will be demolished.
What is the whole matter?
It was recently claimed that a large amount of cash was recovered while extinguishing the fire at the government residence of Justice Yashwant Verma in Delhi. However, sources said that Justice Verma was out of the city during this time. Meanwhile, pictures of bundles of burnt notes were revealed outside his house. Debris was also found to be burnt. Burned notes were also found in it. Earlier, the Supreme Court released its report on ‘Cash Scandal’.
After the case came to light, the Allahabad High Court Bar Association has demanded a impeachment against Justice Yashwant Verma over allegations of corruption. The Bar Association passed 11 resolutions in its general assembly meeting, of which the main demand was that the CBI and ED should be allowed to register a case against Justice Verma.
