Prayagraj, 18 November (Hindustan Reporter). Justice Girdhar Malviya (86), grandson of Mahamana Madan Mohan Malviya and retired justice of Allahabad High Court, was ill for a long time. He breathed his last on Monday morning at a private hospital in Georgetown, Prayagraj. Justice Girdhar Malviya’s residence is also in Georgetown.
Justice Malviya last attended the convocation ceremony held in BHU last year. After this he did not attend any public program due to health reasons. His son Manoj Malviya, former DGP of West Bengal and advisor to West Bengal State Police, was present at the time of his father’s death.
Hearing the news of Justice Malviya’s demise, a crowd of close people gathered at his residence. Among those close to Justice Girdhar Malviya is former Vice Chancellor of BHU, Prof. GC Tripathi says that Justice Malviya was always a person who followed the ideas and principles of Madan Mohan Malviya. His passing is an irreparable loss for all of us. He told that the last rites of Justice Malviya will be held on November 19 at Rasulabad Ghat.
Girdhar Malviya, former Vice Chancellor of BHU, Varanasi, was also a proposer of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha elections 2014. He became Justice of Allahabad High Court on 14 March 1988. In November 2018, he became the Chancellor of BHU, Varanasi and was also the President of Ganga Mahasabha. He also had the responsibility of the post of Chairman of Prayagraj based Seva Samiti Inter College Management Committee.
