Wasim Jaffers critics reply: Everyone is getting angry with Rohit Sharma -led Team India to play all their matches in the Champions Trophy at one place. Many players and former cricketers from other teams, ranging from Australian captain Pat Cummins, have raised the issue. Now former India batsman Wasim Jafar has given a strong reply to all this. Jafar says that the ICC should hold Team India matches in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi besides Dubai, so that the players can check in different hotels. If this happens, the rest of the players and former cricketers will not have any problem with this.
Pakistan was given the right to host the Champions Trophy 2025, but Team India refused to go to Pakistan due to political issues. Due to which this tournament is being played on the basis of hybrid model.
Wasim Jafar said, ‘To please these people, the ICC should have held a match of India in Sharjah and an Abu Dhabi and perhaps they should have allowed to check in another hotel. So this issue will not arise. “Yes, I mean if he does not want to go to India, Pakistan and every country have this option.”
Naturally India does not want to go there due to political reasons or government intervention. Then what option do we have? We want India and Pakistan to play in this tournament. There will be no tournament without India. Wasim Jafar meanwhile remembered the World Cup 2023 when Team India had to travel around 13,000 kilometers within 35 days and play matches at 9 different places, but no one raised the issue.
The former Indian cricketer said, ‘If you talk about the 2023 World Cup, then India had to play all 9 matches at different places. India has never played two consecutive matches, while all other teams have played and we have never talked about it. I think Pakistan must have played some matches in Hyderabad. Bangladesh matched in Kolkata. Many other teams also continued to play matches but India never played, but we never talked about it. Finally you have to play good cricket to win the tournament and lift the trophy.
