Hyderabad, April 09: In a shocking incident, a ward boy was caught smoking cigarettes and consuming alcohol while on duty inside Erragadda Government Chest Hospital. The ward boy was caught on camera while he was sitting inside the oxygen plant at the Erragadda Government Chest Hospital which is located in Telangana’s Hyderabad.
The video shows that the ward boy is sitting inside the oxygen plant with a glass full of alcohol while smoking cigarette. The alcohol and cigarettes were kept on a hospital bed while the ward boy is seen on a table and consuming liquor while on duty at night.
A person reached the spot and recorded the incident on his mobile camera and made the video viral on social media. On spotting the camera, the ward boy stood from the spot and tried to escape. However, the cameraman followed him and inquired about his identity card, to which he replied that he does not have an ID card at the time of the incident.
The cameraman also recorded his scooter which was parked inside the oxygen plant of the hospital. Patients are outraged by such barbaric acts where their lives depend on them.
The cameraman confronted the ward boy and asked him, “What are you doing here with liquor bottles?” The man then tried to hide his face with his hands. The cameraman asked him to remove his hand and show his face and ID card. The man also said that he is receiving complaint regarding his drinking inside the hospital on daily basis.
The cameraman then showed his watch in the camera and said that he is sitting and drinking at around 11PM inside the oxygen plant while on duty. He said that the person has been identified as Sadiq and drinks alcohol regularly inside the hospital while on duty.
He also said that strict action will be taken against him. The man also said that it is very risky as the place is not a normal space in the hospital, it was an oxygen plant. Anything could happen if the plant catches fire due to the cigarette. The person risked the lives of the patients present inside the hospital with his shameful act.
The video of the incident, which reportedly occurred on Tuesday (April 08) has now gone viral on social media and the internet users are demanding strict action against the accused.
There are no reports of any police or departmental action against the accused.
