The Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024 will be introduced in the Lok Sabha today. The BJP has prepared the field and all the NDA parties including Nitish, Chandrababu Naidu have come together. Whip has also been issued for MPs. The government has also included suggestions received from partners. Here, the opposition has also made a strategy to surround the government. The parties involved in the India Alliance will oppose the Waqf Amendment Bill in Parliament.

 

The opposition has made it clear that it will raise its voice in debate and voting. In such a situation, there is a possibility of severe conflict from both sides. The Congress Parliamentary Party will meet at 9.30 am. Sonia Gandhi and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi will also be present. There is a lot of uproar over this bill. The surprising thing is that the views of Muslim leaders of both the side and the opposition are different on this bill. The Kerala Church body has urged all political parties to support the Waqf Amendment Bill. If the bill is passed, the people of Delhi will celebrate the Muslim Committee.

The discussion will start at 12 noon.

The debate will start in the Lok Sabha at 12 noon today. The BJP has been given 4 hours to discuss the bill. The NDA has been given a total of 4 hours 40 minutes. The bill has been given 8 hours to discuss the bill. However, time can be extended as required. Speaker Om Birla will decide on this.

The NDA has issued a whip to all its Lok Sabha MPs to be present. Nitish Kumar, Chandrababu Naidu, Jitan Ram Manjhi, Chirag Paswan have announced to vote in support of the bill. The current session of Parliament i.e. the budget session ends on Friday. The bill was first introduced in the lower house in August last year, after which it was sent to JPC.
