Houston, July 08 (HS). Patrick Crusius, the gunman who killed 23 people at an El Paso Walmart in Texas in 2019, was sentenced by a federal judge on Friday to 90 consecutive life sentences.
Prosecutors had recommended 24-year-old white ‘supremacist’ Patrick Crusius to serve consecutive life sentences for each of 90 federal charges, including hate crimes and firearm offences. During the trial, Patrick confessed his crime.
Patrick refused to accept the charges at the start of the trial. He pleaded guilty in February after prosecutors indicated they would not seek the death penalty. On August 3, 2019, 21 people were killed and dozens injured when gunman Patrick fired a volley of bullets. US District Judge David Guadarrama announced the verdict after a three-day hearing in the city of El Paso.
