The German automaker Volkswagen has announced that it will introduce its new entry-level electric car concept in March 2025. However, this car can be launched in the global market by 2030. The company said that this car will not be available for sale before 2027.
The price of this new electric car of Volkswagen can be around € 20,000 (about 18 lakh rupees).
How will Volkswagen’s new electric car be?
This entry-level electric car of Volkswagen will be a small city car. At the moment, its official name has not been decided, but it is expected that it can be named ID 1.

Volkswagen will first launch ID 2all by 2026 and then bring its entry-level electric car to the market in 2027. This car will be based on the new Meb platform of Volkswagen.

- Design: This car will be like crossover or SUV, which will look different from the rest of the ID series models.
- Meb Architecture: This ID will use Meb architecture similar to 2all.
- Size: It will be slightly smaller than Volkswagen Polo, but its wheelbase will be longer, which will give more space.
Paurtrain and Battery
This electric car of Volkswagen will have a front-wheel drive motor and large battery.
- Range: This car can provide a range of up to 350–450 km.
- Charging: It will get DC and AC fast charging support.
- Battery: There will be a higher capacity battery, so that this car can cover long distances.
When will Volkswagen’s electric car come in India?
Currently, Volkswagen has not introduced any electric car in the Indian market. However, it is expected that the company may launch an entry-level electric car for India in the coming years.
- Volkswagen will introduce its first all-electrical small car in 2026.
- Its base price can be less than € 25,000 (about 22.68 lakh rupees).
