Vodafone Idea (VI) has increased its 5G network to 11 major cricket stadiums in India. Now during the ongoing T20 League in India, fans will be able to sit in the stadium and enjoy VI’s high-speed 5G network. This facility is now available in major stadiums in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Chandigarh and Visakhapatnam.
VI’s 5G network expansion
VI’s 5G network expansion occurred during the T20 League season, when millions of people are reaching the stadium to watch the match. After the success of the first 5G service in Mumbai, the company has now spread its network to more cities.
Strong network infrastructure
VI has strengthened its network infrastructure for better connectivity in stadiums. Keeping in mind more data use in crowded areas, the company has set up 53 new 5G sites, upgrade 44 existing sites and also deployed 9 cell on wheels (COWS). This will not interrupt the network during the match. Apart from this, VI has also implemented advanced technology such as Massive Mimo and BTS, so that users get sharp signals and high-speed data in the stadium. This means that now you can do live streaming during the match, share photos and videos and be active on social media – even without any buffering.
Who can take advantage of VI 5G?
VI’s 5G network is available to all customers who have a 5G-supported smartphone. For this, users will just have to go to their mobile settings and turn on 5G. No additional charge will have to be paid to use this facility.
