VIT-AP University, in collaboration with Google Cloud, has organised a 12-hour Hackathon event, GoogleDevs Sprint 2K25 on March 19. This event was exclusively designed for VIT-AP students as part of Digital Campus 2.0 on Google Cloud. Approximately 350 teams registered for the hackathon, out of which 160 teams were selected to participate after an elimination round. Top three teams emerged as winners. Dr Deepasikha Mishra, convener of the event, provided an overview of the hackathon, highlighting its significance.

Dr S V Kota Reddy, vice chancellor, VIT-AP University; Dr Jagadish Chandra Mudiganti, registrar, VIT-AP University; Siddharth Dalwadi, chief guest and regional head-South, Google Cloud; Dr Sudhakar Ilango, dean, SCOPE; Dr Saroj Panigrahi, associate dean, SCOPE; and Dr Khadheer Pasha Sk, deputy director, student welfare, were the dignitaries.

Chief Guest Siddharth Dalwadi motivated students by offering valuable insights into industry expectations. He elaborated on how Google Cloud is proactively preparing students for industry challenges by organizing hackathons and certification programs through Digital Campus 2.0 on Google Cloud.

In his address, Dr S V Kota Reddy, vice chancellor of VIT-AP University, emphasised the importance of international collaborations and MOUs in enhancing the university’s reputation. He highlighted the funding support provided at VIT-AP for young entrepreneurs and encouraged students to leverage these opportunities. He further stressed the need to foster an environment where students think beyond textbooks, collaborate across disciplines, and develop real-world solutions, linking the outcomes of such hackathons to better placement opportunities. Dr Jagadish Chandra Mudiganti, registrar, encouraged young minds to explore automation solutions for time management challenges. He urged students to come up with innovative ideas that leverage technology to enhance efficiency and productivity.
