Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In years to come, Madhya Pradesh envisages Multi-City Economic Hubs equipped with robust commercial infrastructure, playing a key role in job creation and economic expansion. The draft prepared for urban and rural infrastructure under the aegis of Vision for Developed Madhya Pradesh @ 2047 provisions for these economic hubs.
The vision targets areas having potential to be upgraded as urban and rural pockets. As per the draft proposal, the Multi-City Economic Hubs will have the potential to generate employment opportunities as it envisions developing 40+ industrial parks in identified urban clusters, along with 15+ IT parks. It also proposes the construction of industrial corridors between selected clusters to accelerate the state’s economic growth.
For a sustainable, balanced economic development, the draft proposal speaks of developing green industrial areas. It also bats for a new policy to support street vendors and micro entrepreneurs. It also stresses on inclusive development in developed villages and blocks. It aims at centralized development in 100+ underdeveloped tehsils with comprehensive digital connectivity (Wi-Fi access, CCTV camera surveillance), uninterrupted electricity and water supply.
Shopping complexes in every tehsil along with one sports centre, affordable residential programmes also find mention in the draft proposal. The priority of developed villages also envisages e-governance and easy digital accessibility encompassing facilities such as smart healthcare, 100% digital records and digital platform for e-learning and skill development.
New and renewable energy
The draft proposal envisages achieving 50 % installed capacity of new and renewable energy by 2030. To attract private investment in the energy sector, the proposal aims to engage with the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and JICA. For clean fuel, it pitches for mixed fuel for bio diesel. Through the medium of Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), the proposal seeks 100% smart metering arrangement for all electricity consumers. It also advocates for cent percent use of fly ash.
Railway development plan
Under the Railway Development Plan, the draft proposal proposes development of best category station terminal infrastructure under Amrit Bharat Stations. The railway stations will be equipped with facilities like luxury lounge, café, shopping stores etc. Under rapid inter-cluster project, the proposal emphasises connecting major urban clusters with Vande Bharat.
