Team India’s star batter Virat Kohli hilariously revealed that he doesn’t know what to do about his on-field personality anymore. With the 36-year-old appearing calm on the field than before, mellowing down his aggressive attitude, the veteran said he doesn’t focus on it anymore since he is clueless what can be done about it.
The former Indian captain had been quite confrontational during the early part of his career as he has had several verbal altercations with opposition cricketers and crowds. However, Kohli has significantly mellowed down as far as such behaviour goes.
Speaking to renowned commentator Isa Guha, Kohli stated:
“I don’t know what to do. My aggression was a problem and now my calmness is a problem. I have no idea what needs to be done, so that’s why I don’t focus on it.”
Virat Kohli hints at retiring before playing another Test series in Australia
Meanwhile, Kohli has strongly hinted at retiring from international cricket before India play another Test series in Australia. He stated during the same interaction:
“I might not have another Australia tour in me, so I am at peace with whatever happened in the past.”
The Delhi-born cricketer is the only Asian captain thus far to win a Test series Down Under when he achieved it during the 2018-19 tour. However, he had a forgettable time during the most recent series as he managed only 190 runs in ten innings at 23.75 despite scoring a hundred in the opening Test.
The veteran still averages a healthy 46.73 in 18 Tests in Australia with seven centuries.
