Virat Kohli landed on the field for Ranji Trophy cricket on Thursday (30 January) about 13 years later. A huge crowd was seen outside and inside the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi to see Kohli. Meanwhile, there was tremendous enthusiasm among the local people of Delhi. At the same time, many videos are going viral on social media, in which it is being claimed that there was a 2 km long line to see them.

 

The Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Railways started on Thursday (30 January) at Arun Jaitley Stadium. In this match, Delhi captain Ayush Badoni won the toss and decided to bowl first. In this match, Virat went on playing domestic cricket for Delhi after nearly 13 years. Meanwhile, there was a tremendous craze of fans outside and inside the stadium about Kohli. The Jaitley Stadium administration was also surprised to see the huge crowd of people.

Meanwhile, there was a stampede in the crowd outside the gate number 16 of the stadium. A couple fell and injured near this entry. A police bike was damaged and many people left behind their shoes.

Virat Kohli’s last Ranji match

Virat Kohli last played a Ranji Trophy match against Uttar Pradesh, captained by Virender Sehwag in November 2012 in Ghaziabad. Uttar Pradesh won the toss and decided to bowl first and Virat Kohli scored 14 runs in the first innings. Kohli was dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the first innings. In the second innings, Kohli was once again dismissed by Bhubaneswar for 43 runs.

Virat Kohli’s Ranji Trophy debut

In his first match, Virat Kohli batted at number 5 in the team of Gautam Gambhir, Akash Chopra, Shikhar Dhawan, Ashish Nehra and Ishant Sharma. Ishant and Kohli made their first class debut in a single match with Delhi captain Mithun Manhas. Kohli scored 10 runs off 25 balls with the help of two fours, but Yo was caught out by Mahesh. Shikhar Dhawan, Vijay Dahiya and Rajat Bhatia scored centuries in the match, taking Delhi lead in the first innings and declared the innings by scoring 491 runs for 7 wickets.

This is Kohli’s first Ranji century

Virat Kohli scored his first century against Rajasthan in the Ranji Trophy, which was Delhi’s first domestic match in the 2007-08 season. In the first innings, he was dismissed by scoring 19 runs, in which Delhi could only score 119 runs. In return, Delhi dismissed Rajasthan for 89 runs. In the second innings, Delhi scored 387 runs with the help of Virat Kohli’s century (106 off 192 balls). Captain Mithun Manhas scored a century, while Rajat Bhatia scored 83 runs. Delhi’s score was 24 for 2 wickets, but Virat Kohli and Akash Chopra saved the domestic team from the crisis by adding 78 runs for the third wicket. Finally, Delhi won the match by 172 runs.
