Virat Kohli made history on Sunday by surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s ODI record during India’s Champions Trophy 2025 match against Pakistan. Kohli became the third cricketer globally to achieve the impressive milestone of 14,000 runs in One-Day International cricket.
Virat Kohli reached the 14,000-run mark in his 287th innings overtaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 350 innings. While Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara took 378 innings to get to the mark.
With another match remaining in India’s Champions Trophy group against New Zealand (and potentially two more matches, should India qualify for semi-final and final), Kohli has a chance to go past Sangakkara and become the second-highest run-scorer in ODI history.
