Virar: A tragic accident in Virar East claimed the life of a 36-year-old woman while leaving her husband seriously injured after a private bus crashed into their bike on Monday afternoon. The deceased, Rajshree Tambe, was riding pillion while her husband, Sachin Tambe, 40, was riding the two-wheeler. The couple, residents of Chetan Apartment in Manvel Pada, Virar East, were on their way to their daughters’ school when the accident occurred.
Speeding Private Bus Collides Bike
Around 4 pm, as they were passing near DMart in Manvel Pada, a speeding private bus collided head-on with their bike. The impact was devastating, throwing Rajshree off the vehicle, and she died on the spot. Sachin suffered serious injuries and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital by passersby, as reported by Hindustan Times.
Following the accident, the Virar police arrested the driver of the private bus. He has been booked under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, for culpable homicide not amounting to murder and rash driving. A police officer stated that the driver was sent for a medical examination as part of the investigation.
Elderly Woman Killed By Speeding Car In Badlapur
In a separate incident, a 59-year-old woman lost her life after being struck by a speeding car near the Panvelkar Bhoomi Complex in Kharwai, Badlapur, on Monday morning. The victim, Mathura Rama Irle, a resident of Kharwai, had stepped out for her routine morning walk. She was walking along the left-side lane toward Badlapur station when the fatal crash occurred around 5:30 am near a petrol pump.
Eyewitnesses and CCTV footage from the area revealed that the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into Mathura with great force. The impact was so severe that she was thrown several feet away and died on the spot.
