Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Models walked the ramp wearing dresses patterned on attires worn by Princess Diana and Begums of Bhopal in a Vintage Fashion Show at Gauhar Mahal in the city on Friday.
Choreographed by fashion designer Tajwar Khan, 24 models showcased shades of Indian tradition in three different rounds. The first two rounds in the show were dedicated to vintage fashion. In this, the models walked the ramp wearing Indo-Western dresses.
The third round was dedicated to Gond art in which the models displayed the jewellery prepared in Gond art. The participants used nude glam makeup for the show.
“The models have been preparing for the show for the last one month,” Khan said, adding that the special thing was that the show took place to the tune of the music of a live band. It was part of the second-day of four-day ‘Pari Bazaar,’ which was formally inaugurated by Governor Mangubhai Patel on Friday Besides the fashion show, the performance of Atmaja Band was held which enchanted the audience.
The women’s band presented songs including ‘Mere Sahiba Main Teri Ho Munkiya….,’ etc under the direction of Rupali Chatterjee. A discussion session on ‘Envision of the Future ‘was held. Professor Savita Raje, historians Pooja Saxena and Prerna Kothari took part in the session.
