Latur: Vinod Chavan Honored with ‘Marathwada Bhushan Adarsh Shikshak Award 2024’ |

A teacher at Raja Narayanlal Lahoti English School and journalist in Latur, Vinod Chavan, was bestowed with the prestigious ‘Marathwada Bhushan Adarsh Shikshak Award – 2024,’ on Wednesday.

The award was constituted by the Marathwada Samnavya Samiti, Pune, and was presented for Vinod Chavan’s exemplary and exceptional contributions to education and social work.

The award ceremony was held on Wednesday (January 1) on the premises of the Panchayat Samiti office in Tuljapur. The event was presided over by Adv GR Deshmukh, (President of Swatantryaveer Ramnand Teerth Smarak and Sewabhavi Sanstha, Parbhani). The chief guests included eminent historian Dr. Shrimant Kokate, President of the Marathwada Samanvay Samiti, and entrepreneur Rajkumar Dhurgude, Mahendra Kaka Dhurgude, and Block Development Officer of Tuljapur Amol Takbhate.

The Marathwada Samanvay Samiti, Pune, is a social organization dedicated to the all-round development of the Marathwada region. For many years, it has been executing various social initiatives across Pune and Marathwada. The late Bhanudasrao Dhurgude, a prominent freedom fighter from Marathwada, played an active role in the struggle against the Nizam and British rule. After independence, he devoted his life to social reform and strengthening education. Every year, on his birth anniversary (January 1), the committee honors exemplary teachers in Marathwada for their contributions to education and society with the ‘Marathwada Bhushan Adarsh Shikshak Award.’

For the year 2024, Vinod Chavan was selected for his outstanding work in the fields of education, journalism, environment, and social service. His recognition has garnered widespread congratulations and appreciation.
