Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey took to his social media in the wee hours of Monday and shocked his fans as he announced retirement from acting. The 37-year-old actor shared that his last two films will release in 2025, post which, he will ‘return home’.

Vikrant took to his Instagram to share his official statement that read, “The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and everyone of you for your incredible support. But as I move forward, I realise it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a husband, father and a son. And also as an actor.”

He went on to say, “So coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right. Last 2 movies and many a years of memories.”

“Thank you again. For everything and everything in between. Forever indebted,” he concluded.

Vikrant was last seen in The Sabarmati Report, which crossed Rs 25 crore at the box office. The film claimed to show the truth behind the burning of the Sabarmati Express in Godhra, which led to the Gujarat Riots.

After having started in several films and web shows including Dil Dhadakne Do, Death In The Gunj, Chhapaak, Haseen Dillruba, Sector 36, Vikrant delivered the most successful film of his career, 12th Fail, in 2023. While the film initially failed to perform at the box office, it became the talk of the town after it dropped on OTT and Vikrant was hailed as one of the finest actors of today’s times.

One of Vikrant’s last two films will reportedly be Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyaan, alongside Shanaya Kapoor. The actor was also in talks for the biopic of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, but no announcement has been made as of yet.
