Popular chef, writer and filmmaker Vikas Khanna penned an emotional note for Shah Rukh Khan after the Bollywood superstar visited his New York restaurant, Bungalow. He also revealed that he got teary-eyed while interacting with the actor.
Taking to his official social media accounts, Vikas shared a picture in which he is seen posing with Shah Rukh and others. Along with the photo, he expressed his admiration for the actor and called him his ‘hero’ and ‘king’.
Vikas wrote, “My life revolves around 3 people – BK, SK, SRK… My Maa, Sanjeev Kapoor & The King. When SRK visited Bungalow & asked me to sit with him. As we spoke about me going to cinema everyday to watch DDLJ with my sister and every movie of his. He became my hero for who he is. His voice. His patience. His confidence. His compassion. His friendship.”
Opening up about getting emotional, he mentioned, “To hold back my tears I looked up the glass ceiling & saw the clear crescent of moon watching over me. People who lose the ones they loved the most, always find signs of them watching over us. Today is dedicated to you Sir. You holding my hand and saying, ‘Bungalow represents us. Our parents. Our ancestors. Our India.’ This is everything to a scared-paranoid-failed child from Amritsar.”
Vikas has often expressed his love for Shah Rukh on social media.
Shah Rukh, often referred to as the ‘King of Bollywood’, has built a massive following with his charismatic performances. He has become a beloved figure, not only in India but across the globe.
On the other hand, Vikas has been a familiar face on television as he has hosted various culinary shows. He gained widespread recognition for judging the Indian version of the cooking competition show MasterChef. His culinary skills and innovative approach to Indian cuisine have earned him recognition globally.
Besides, he also directed a film titled The Last Color, which premiered at the 2018 Palm Springs International Film Festival.
