Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Vijay Nagar police conducted a meeting with bars, hotels and DJ operators on Saturday to ensure peaceful New Year’s Eve celebrations. ACP Aditya Patle and police station in-charge Chandrakant Patel briefed establishment owners about the rules to ensure safety and order.
The establishment owners were told that no programme should be organised without permission which should be obtained from the office through the local police station. The organiser should install CCTV cameras at venue. Loud music, DJ and firecrackers should not be played till late night at the venue and no sale or consumption of any type of liquor should be allowed at the venue without the permission of the Excise Department.
They were further instructed to keep adequate arrangements of fire-fighting equipment to ensure that no incident of arson takes place at the venue. Adequate parking arrangements should be made outside the venue and no one should enter with weapons. In case of any incident of weapon display or celebratory firing, action will also be taken against the organiser.
Police issue guidelines ahead of New Year celebration
Keeping in mind the citizen’s safety while celebrating New Year, the city police issued guidelines and tips and appealed to them to follow it.
* Avoid Drink and Drive, use a cab or hire a driver to drive your vehicle after consuming liqour
* Avoid consuming drugs
* Avoid triple riding on a two-wheeler. If caught, action will be taken under the Motor Vehicles Act.
* Follow speed limit while driving
* Avoid playing loud music or bursting crackers late at night. Violation will lead to action under the Noise Pollution Act.
* Choose Safe Party Spots: Stay away from unauthorised and unsafe places.
* Organisers and business establishment operators are also asked to close their establishments or events at the prescribed time. No event will be held without permission which will be given by the ACP office.
* Organisers should install CCTV cameras and adequate lighting around their event venue for security purposes.
