He also signed a decree declaring December 26 a day of mourning in Azerbaijan.
At the same time, Russian Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke by phone with Azerbaijani President Aliyev and expressed condolences on the tragedy. Also speaking at the CIS meeting in St. Petersburg, Putin said that Russia’s Emergencies Ministry has sent a plane with rescuers to Kazakhstan to help after the plane crash.
