Dandakhora police station in Katihar district of Bihar was attacked by angry mob, in which five policemen were injured , The crowd came to get rid of one of the accused, after which he pelted stones at the police station. The police also had to shoot in self-defense to disperse the crowd. Police force has been deployed after the incident and investigation of the case has been started.

Katihar SP Vaibhav Sharma said, ‘A mob came to Dandkhor police station late on Friday night. The mob tried to free a person who was detained for violating the prohibition law. The mob entered the police station premises and threw stones at the policemen on duty. Five policemen were injured.
Five arrested in connection with the attack
The SP said, ‘Police personnel fired in self-defense to disperse the mob. The crowd could not free the closed person. Five people have been arrested in this case. A case has been registered against the accused under the Indian Penal Code. In 2016, the sale of liquor in Bihar was banned.
There have been attacks on police earlier in Bihar.
A similar incident took place in Gaya, Bihar last month. Some people attacked the police team, injuring two policemen. The injured also include a female constable.
