New Delhi/Islamabad: Pakistan has detained a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan from the border. After keeping this jawan named Purnam Kumar in custody for 21 days, Pakistan finally released him due to pressure from India. After detaining the Indian soldier, the BSF also detained a Pakistani Ranger. While Pakistan released the Indian soldier, India also released the Pakistani Ranger. The Pakistani soldier returned to his country, while the Indian soldier returned home. After Operation Sindoor, the DGMO of the armies of the two countries discussed the ceasefire issue. In which India pressured Pakistan to release the BSF jawan. After this, Pakistan eventually pulled back its steps and released the soldier.
Constable Purnam Kumar is posted in BSF, he was stationed near the international border with Pakistan in Punjab, however, while going to help the local people, he accidentally crossed the international border, after which he was taken into custody by Pakistani Rangers. After which the Indian Army requested the Pakistani Army two or three times to release Purnam Kumar. However, Pakistan was not ready to leave from there.
A day after the terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, BSF jawan Purnam Kumar was taken into custody by the Pakistani Army from the international border in Punjab. After which pictures of his custody were also revealed, in which the jawan was blindfolded. The soldier’s family was worried, although he hoped that the issue would be discussed in the DGMO meeting of the armies of the two countries and Purnam Kumar would be released. His hope eventually fulfilled.
At around 10:30 am on Wednesday morning, Pakistani Rangers handed over Indian military constable Purnam Kumar to BSF between the two countries on the Wagah-Attari border. After which the full body checkup of the jawan was done. Apart from this, all the information will also be gathered about the behavior done by Pakistani Rangers with the jawan. A spokesman for the security department said that the soldier was handed over peacefully according to the protocol. On the other hand, India also released a Pakistani Ranger named Muhammadullah and handed it back to the Pakistani Army.
Pakistani soldier Muhammadullah also crossed the border and entered India, after which he was taken into custody. On the other hand, there have been reports that Pakistan has recently increased the range of its mobile towers. Keeping this in mind, strict restrictions have been imposed on the use of Pakistani SIM cards in Jaisalmer and Sriganganagar areas of Rajasthan. Collectors of these two areas have issued orders warning people. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a cabinet meeting for the first time after a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah were also present on the occasion. There are reports that in this meeting, along with the current situation on the border, Operation Sindoor was also discussed.
