Vaibhav Arora and Varun Chakaravarthy shared six wickets between them as the Kolkata Knight Riders thrashed SunRisers Hyderabad by 80 runs in the IPL 2025 game on Thursday at the Eden Gardens. SunRisers’ batting hardly got going in pursuit of a mammoth target of 201, especially having lost both their openers in the powerplay itself.
Half-centuries from Venkatesh Iyer and Angkrish Raghuvanshi have lifted the Kolkata Knight Riders to an imposing 200/6 against the SunRisers Hyderabad at the Eden Gardens on Thursday. Venkatesh Iyer was particularly explosive at the death as the defending champions clobbered 78 runs off the last five overs.
SunRisers Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins won the toss at the Eden Gardens and opted to bowl first as the IPL 2024 finalists clash on Wednesday. The right-arm speedster reasoned that it looks like an excellent wicket to bat on and suggested that it’s unlikely to change too much in the second half.
