Vashi Activist Flags Illegal Bangladeshi Residents, Abandoned Inflammable Vehicles Near Schools |

Former corporator and social activist Divya Gaikwad from Vashi has submitted a formal complaint to the Vashi Police raising serious concerns over two pressing civic issues: the presence of illegal Bangladeshi nationals residing in Vashi Gav and the prolonged parking of highly inflammable and abandoned vehicles near schools and public roads in Sector 1, Vashi.

In her letter, Gaikwad highlighted multiple citizen complaints about house helpers and working staff allegedly residing in Vashi Gav who are believed to be Bangladeshi nationals with forged Aadhaar cards and other government documents. She linked these individuals to a rising number of theft cases in the area and urged the police to take immediate and stringent action against illegal residents.

In a separate but simultaneous concern, Gaikwad pointed to two vehicles that have been causing traffic obstructions and public commuting issues. One of them—a highly inflammable tanker (MH-11 DD-4444)—has reportedly been parked for several days outside the entry gate of the Vashi Police Station, directly opposite Navi Mumbai Primary High School.

“The tanker has raised safety concerns among residents due to the “Highly Inflammable” warning visibly marked on it,” Gaikwad said.

Additionally, she mentioned a truck (MH-10 Z-4871) that has been abandoned for over nine months near Navi Mumbai Secondary High School, Sector 1. Both vehicles are contributing to traffic congestion in the area. GPS-tagged photographs of the tanker and truck were submitted with her complaint for reference.

Gaikwad urged the Vashi Police to take immediate action to address both the issue of illegal residents and the removal of the parked vehicles to ensure public safety and order in the locality.

“We have recived the complaint letter and we would be looking into it,” said a Vashi police officer.
