Dinesh Nandwana, 62, founder, promoter, and chairman emeritus of Mumbai-based technology company Vakrangee Group, was shocked by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids at his Andheri residence. He collapsed and died of a fatal heart attack on Friday.

Senior ED officials clarified that there was no foul play involved in his death or any complaint against the conduct of the ED team during the search operation. “It was very unfortunate that Nandwana, who had a history of heart ailments, suffered a cardiac stroke and collapsed. He was rushed to the nearest hospital,” an ED official stated.

The Jalandhar unit of the ED had raided the Andheri East residence of the Vakrangee founder when he collapsed during the search.

According to the senior management of Vakrangee, the company was rapidly expanding with Assisted Digital Convenience stores, Nextgen Vakrangee Kendras, acting as ‘One Stop Shops’ for multiple products and services.

“He was rushed to the hospital but died before admission. Prima facie, it looks like he had a heart attack, but we are awaiting the postmortem report to ascertain the exact cause of death,” said MIDC police station Senior Inspector Ravindra Chavan.

The Vakrangee family has not filed any police complaint regarding the death of the founder patriarch, Dinesh Nandwana.
