Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways, conducted an inspection of the Juinagar Yard to review the trials of advanced sensor-enabled systems aimed at enhancing operational safety.
During the visit, the Minister reviewed the Sensor-Enabled Point Position Detection System, which uses inductive proximity sensors to monitor the alignment of tongue rails with respect to stock rails. This innovative system continuously compares the physical position of the points at the site with the data from the interlocking system. In the event of any discrepancy, it immediately generates an alarm indicating a mismatched point position.
Additionally, a trial of the Signal Aspect Feedback System has also been implemented. This system uses wavelength detection RBG sensors to verify the actual illuminated aspect of LED signals. It generates an alarm if the signal displays an aspect different from that commanded by the interlocking system.
Both the Point Position Detection System and the Signal Aspect Feedback System have been installed on all points and signals at Juinagar Yard on a trial basis.
A report on these trials will be submitted to the RDSO and the Railway Board for further evaluation and approval.
