There is tremendous enthusiasm among the devotees about the Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand. The Uttarakhand government has also started preparing with the announcement of the opening dates of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. Online and offline registrations have been made mandatory to operate the journey smoothly, and so far more than 5 lakh passengers have registered themselves.

Registration for Chardham Yatra

According to the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council, the registration number for various dhams so far is as follows:

  • Yamunotri: 93,803

  • Gangotri: 96,445

  • Kedarnath: 1,66,576

  • Badrinath: 1,55,046

  • Hemkund Sahib: 5,151

In three days, more than 5.17 lakh devotees have registered online for Chardham Yatra, while more than 5,802 passengers traveling from private vehicles have also been registered.

Arrangements on travel route boost

The government is ensuring that there is no shortage of roads, health services, electricity, water and other facilities on the journey route. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami recently held a meeting with higher officials regarding the Chardham Yatra and directed that all preparations should be completed on time.

Chardham doors opening dates

The dates of opening the doors of the dhams for Uttarakhand Chardham Yatra are as follows:

  • Gangotri and Yamunotri: 30 April 2024

  • Kedarnath Dham: 2 May 2024

  • Badrinath Dham: 4 May 2024

  • Hemkund Sahib: 25 May 2024

How to register for Chardham Yatra?

Online and offline registration has been made mandatory for Chardham Yatra. Devotees can register themselves through the following mediums:

  3. Helicopter Services Booking: Heliyatra.irctc.co.in (Booking will start in the first week of April)

Work on snow removal from walking route for Kedarnath Yatra continues

To facilitate the Kedarnath Yatra, the teams of Lonivi and DDMA are engaged in removing snow from the walking route.

  • Workers teams have reached Linchouli from Linchouli and Tharu camp.

  • Difficulties are facing some places due to excessive snowfall and presence of glacier.

  • The administration is giving priority to smooth the journey route, so that horse-mules and devotees can travel easily.

Lonivian Executive Engineer Vinay Jhinkwan said that despite the bad weather, the workers are engaged in preparing the road as soon as possible.

Yatra Parishad will be built before Chardham Yatra

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced that this time “Yatra Parishad” will be formed regarding the Chardham Yatra.

  • In view of the increase in the number of devotees, preparations are being finalized.

  • On the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttarakhand is also being developed as a wedding destination.

  • This year “Winter Chardham Yatra” will also be expanded so that more and more devotees can visit.
