Uttarakhand 55 laborers engaged in road construction were trapped due to avalanche near Mana village in Chamoli. So far, 46 workers buried under snow have been rescued. 4 of them have died. The search for five trapped workers is still going on. According to sources, 14 other people were also rescued on Saturday morning, one of whom is in critical condition. Relief and rescue operations are going on in the area.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, ‘There were 8 containers at the scene, out of which 5 have been recovered. 14 saved people were also in a container this morning. “Campaign continues to find the remaining three containers.”

Forecast of rain and snowfall

The Meteorological Department has predicted rain and snowfall in the state in the next 24 hours. There is still a threat of avalanche in Chamoli district, causing problems in rescue operations. Meanwhile, the administration has appealed to the people to stay in safe places and advised to avoid moving to altitude areas.
