Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has invited online applications for recruitment to 604 posts of Assistant Engineer in various departments.

  • The application process has started from 17 December 2024.
  • Last date of application is 17 January 2025.
  • Interested candidates can apply on the official website uppsc.up.nic.in.

Recruitment details

  1. Details of posts:
    • General Selection: 582 Posts.
    • Special Selection: 22 posts.
  2. Exam Scheme:
    • This time preliminary examination has been added to the recruitment process.
    • Only those candidates who are successful in the preliminary examination will appear in the main examination.

Students object to curriculum change

Graduate Engineering Students Welfare Association President Deepak Singh and Vice President Sapna Singh submitted a memorandum to the Commission.

  • Main reasons for objection:
    1. Preliminary examination added without prior notice.
    2. 22 new subjects were added to the curriculum, such as:
      • Human health and hygiene.
      • Climate change.
    • These subjects are not directly related to civil and mechanical engineering.
  • Students say it is unfair to select them for the main exam without testing technical knowledge.

Exam Process and Cutoff

  • preliminary examination:
    • Technical topics are not included.
    • Cutoff:
      • Unreserved Category: 30%.
      • Reserved Category: 25%.
  • Main Exam:
    • Candidates who are successful in the preliminary examination will get the opportunity to appear in the main examination.

  • Online Application Start: 17 December 2024.
  • Last date of application: 17 January 2025.
  • Last date for submission of fees: 17 January 2025.
