Uttar Pradesh News: Ban on purchase and sale of land in flood affected area in Uttar Pradesh

News India Live, Digital Desk: The Uttar Pradesh administration has taken strict steps on uncontrolled and illegal development in flood affected areas and imposed a temporary ban on the purchase and sale of 14 villages with immediate effect. There have been cases of illegal plotting and construction in villages located on the banks of the submerged area of the Rapti river, especially the Garri-Malauli dam, after which the administration has taken this tough decision.

Ban -affected villages

After the report of District Magistrate Krishna Karunesh, the administration has mainly included 14 villages including Maheva, Manjharia Bastauli, Ajwania, Kathur, Garri, Senduli-Beduli. This step has been taken with the aim of controlling illegal plotting and construction in the sinking area of the river.

East affected area

Two years ago, the administration imposed a conditional ban on the purchase and sale of lands of ten villages connected to the Harbert Dam. These include Dominargarh, Narsinghpur Ehtamali, Munderi Chak, Hanuman Chak, Basantpur Ehtamali and Basantpur. Approval from the District Development Authority (GDA) is necessary before the sale of land in these areas.

Administrative procedure and rules

According to the administrative order, if the land is being taken for residential, commercial or commercial purposes, it is mandatory to get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the District Development Authority. In case of taking land for agriculture use, it will be necessary to take NOC to clarify from the respective sections of the irrigation department whether this land is suitable for agricultural work or not.

Due to action

The absence of homes and construction in the submergence area disrupts the natural flow of the river and complicates flood management. Due to this, local residents have to face a lot of trouble every year in flood conditions. The administration has taken strict steps to prevent this situation.
