Actor Randeep Hooda is currently basking in the success of his recently released film Jaat, where he stars alongside Sunny Deol. The 48-year-old actor recently recalled being left out of the promotions for his 2014 film Highway, which featured Alia Bhatt and received widespread appreciation from the audience. He admitted feeling bad about being left out and also questioned why Ranbir Kapoor was involved in the promotions.
In conversation with Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube podcast, Randeep shared that he felt bad about being excluded, stating it could have benefited his career and made things easier at the time.
The actor also questioned Ranbir’s involvement, wondering why he was part of the promotions. He added, “Maine bhi voh dekha aur mujhe bhi samajh nahi aaya Ranbir Kapoor ka iss picture se kya lena dena hai. Shayad vahi se shaadi shuruvat hui aur main unn dono ko mubarakbaad deta hu. Isse agar unka jeewan aapas mein mila toh main isse bohot khush hu.”
Furthermore, Hooda added, “Last ke 1-2 din shayad traction nahi pakad rahi thi, toh mujhe leke gaye the. Shayad unki strategy shuru se thi ki Alia ke around karenge — waise bhi woh film female exploitation pe thi. Par jab film logon tak pohochhi, unko laga ki agar Mahabir Bhati nahi hota uss picture mein, toh picture waise nahi pakad paati.”
Randeep was last seen in Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, where he played the role of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar.
Before Randeep, Mahesh Manjrekar was attached to the film as he was slated to direct Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, however, later, he decided to leave the project.
The film also starred Ankita Lokhande as Yamunabai Savarkar alongside Amit Sial, Chetan Swaroop, and Rajesh Khera, among others.
