Karachi: A American woman’s unusual love story with Pakistani boyfriend has grabbed the headlines as she has been left stranded in Karachi. According to reports, 33-year-old Onijah Andrew Robinson, travelled to Pakistan’s Karachi to meet her 19-year-old boyfriend Nidal Ahmed Memon, whom she met online.
However, Robinson had a heartbreak when Memon refused to accept her as her his family did not approve their relationship, leaving her stranded. Robinson’s tourist visa has alos been expired now. When the US woman went to Memon’s house in the Garden area, it was locked as his his family had vacated the property, reported Pakistan’s The Express Tribune.
Robinson had repeatedly travelled to Pakistan in October last year. She then decided to camp outside Memon’s house. She then took shelter in the building’s parking area. Soon she made headlines as her action caught attention of the locals.

However, she chose to remain in Pakistan despite help from a non-governmental organisation (NGO). Robinson is a mother of two children. The Airport Security Force (ASF) handed her over to the airport police after the expiry of her tourist visa, reported Pakistan’s Geo TV.
Some reports even claimed that Memon took away Robinson’s entire savings. Despite assistance from the US Consulate and the return ticket reportedly being arranged by the NGO, Robinson refused to leave Pakistan. The US woman had also caused a delay at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport as she did not board the flight back to her country.
Robinson made shocking demands. She asked for a Pakistani citizenship and USD 5,000 per week. “You got to give me $5000 per week. I’m becoming a citizen of Pakistan,” Robinson said as reported by The Express Tribune.
Meanwhile, Robinson’s son, Jeremiah Robinson, made a shocking claim about the health condition of her mother. Jeremiah claimed that her mother is “mentally ill”. Her family also requested her to return but in vain.
The Sindh government also intervened in the matter. As per the latest reports, Robinson has now agreed to return to her country.
Meanwhile, Memon had reportedly been detained.
