US President Donald Trump and his official ally Alan Musk are taking big decisions. These decisions include orders to dismiss a large number of employees from government departments. Trump has ordered the removal of employees from several departments. It is being said that all these decisions have been taken after the suggestions of the department of Alan Musk. However, the court has stayed the order to dismiss the employees.

OPM does not have the right to avoid the employees of federal agencies.

A federal judge in San Francisco on Thursday temporarily stopped the Donald Trump administration’s order to evacuate thousands of new employees. The retrenchment campaign was also supported by billionaire businessman Alan Musk and was being run under a plan to reduce the size of government departments. District Judge William Alasop found that the retrenchment of these employees could be illegal as the US Personnel Management Office (OPM) does not have the right to evacuate employees in federal agencies. He ruled in favor of the employees and imposed a temporary ban. This decision has been filed by labor unions and non-profit organizations (NGOs).

Government lawyers argued in court

Government lawyers say that OPM did not direct any agency to avoid employees. Instead, he directed the agencies to review the employees and determine which employees are eligible to remain in their jobs. The government also says that there is no guarantee of jobs to employees during probation period.

Who registered the case?

The lawsuit has been filed by five labor unions and five non-profit organizations, opposing the efforts of the Trump administration to drasticly cut the number of federal employees. The Trump administration believes that the number of employees in government departments is more and many of them are not working properly. Due to this, the administration started evacuating the employees who were still in the probation period, ie who had not completed even a year.
