Actress Urvashi Rautela returned to the prestigious 78th Cannes Film Festival at the French Riviera. At the opening ceremony of Cannes 2025, she attended the screening of the film Partir un Jour in a colourful fishtail-styled gown with a strapless neckline and a unique design, leaving netizens unimpressed with her bizarre look.
She wore a heavy tiara paired with matching earrings and carried a crystal parrot clutch from the brand Judith Leiber, priced at Rs 4,68,064. The photos posted by Diet Sabya show Urvashi’s makeup up close, which shows her overdone makeup and not particularly appealing. In one of the photos, she was also seen kissing her parrot clutch.

Soon after Urvashi’s look was unveiled, netizens trolled her for her ‘tacky’ appearance. Several users on Reddit’s BollyBlindsNGossips criticised the actress for her weird outfit.
A user commented, “Thought it was Aishwarya (Rai Bachchan) for a second!!!” While another said, “First lady to ignore dressing regulations of Cannes Film Festival Authority.” Another comment read, “She can give AI a run for their money.”

It also seems that Urvashi may have broken the new rules set for Cannes 2025 with her colourful dress that featured a long train. The rules, which stated no nudity (sheer dresses), no voluminous silhouettes, and no long trains, were put in place for ‘decency’ reasons.
A statement from the official festival document reads, “For decency reasons, nudity is prohibited on the red carpet, as well as in any other area of the festival. The festival welcoming teams will be obligated to prohibit red carpet access to anyone not respecting these rules.”
