Aspirant Details Disturbing Encounter With IAS and IPS Officers
According to the user, she reached out to the IAS officer shortly after he had cleared the UPSC exam, hoping for mentorship. Instead, she claims he made inappropriate remarks, saying she was “hot” and asking, “what will he get in return.”
Highlighting her disillusionment, she wrote, “This made me realise that clearing UPSC doesn’t mean you’re a good person, contrary to what I grew up blindly believing.”
The aspirant further alleged that an IPS officer, despite being married, continues to send her “hey how are you” messages periodically. “It’s scary, more so when he’s a policeman, to think that we trust them blindly, go to them for help,” she added, expressing her disappointment over the character of those entrusted with maintaining law and order.
Netizens Demand Accountability, Call For ‘Character Tests’ in UPSC
The thread drew swift reactions from X users, with many demanding stricter checks on the character of future civil servants. One user wrote, “During struggle they are filled with humility, once they crack it, all their forbidden desires become 10x. Should name and shame such officers.” Another commented, “There should be a character test too in UPSC exams.”
While some blamed the aspirant for seeking informal guidance from strangers, many pointed out that the alleged behaviour was unacceptable, especially from those in positions of power.
