UP News: UP government extends DA of 28 lakh employees: big relief

There has been news of a major relief for about 28 lakh government employees of Uttar Pradesh. The Yogi government has announced an increase of two percent in the dearness allowance (DA) of the employees, which will increase their salary. This step can prove to be a great news for government employees working in Uttar Pradesh. From January 2025, 16 lakh employees and 12 lakh pensioners will get increased dearness allowance.

The purpose of increasing dearness allowance

Keeping in mind the rising inflation, the Yogi government has decided to increase the dearness allowance by two percent to provide relief to the employees. This increase will be applicable from January 2025, and government employees will get the cause of happiness after this, as this will directly increase their salary.

Increase in government spending

After increasing the dearness allowance, it will be paid to state employees from April 2025, and they will get the benefit in May 2025. Due to this increase, the government will get additional financial burden. In May 2025, the government will cost an additional cost of Rs 107 crore, while the payment of arrears will cost Rs 193 crore. The GPF of employees with OPS (OPS) will be filled with Rs 129 crore. After this, the government will have to bear the cost of Rs 107 crore every month from June 2025.

Central government has an impact on DA hike

The central government has also increased the dearness allowance of employees by two percent, causing the DA of central employees to 55 percent. More than 1 crore central employees have benefited from this decision. After this move of the central government, the state governments have also started increasing their employees’ dearness allowance.
