A very relief news has come out for the farmers and cattle rearers of Uttar Pradesh. UCO Bank has launched ‘Amritdhara Yojana’ with the aim of strengthening the economic condition of farmers and cattle ranchers in the state. This scheme has been designed to promote cow rearing and increase milk production.

The goal of this scheme is not only to give easy loans to milch animal parents, but also to take organic farming and production to a new level.

Major points of ‘Amritdhara Yojana’:

  • Loan up to Rs 10 lakh: for the observance of 2 to 10 cows to cattle ranchers.
  • Loans up to Rs 3 lakh without guarantee: Small and medium farmers can easily take advantage of it.
  • Loan amount directly deposited in farmers’ accounts: with complete transparency and convenience.

Insurance cover and other facilities in bonus

Under this scheme, the beneficiaries will not only get loans, but an insurance cover of up to ₹ 2 lakh will also be provided. This facility makes the scheme more attractive, especially for farmers who are scared of risks.

The purpose of the scheme:

  • Self -sufficiency in milk production
  • Improvement in economic condition of farmers

The scheme is inspired by the Central Government’s Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF) and has now been implemented in Uttar Pradesh.

Indirect benefit: from milk plant to biogas

The ‘Amritdhara Yojana’ will not only provide loan facilities for not only cattle rearers, but also milk processing units, chilling centers, catal sheds, and biogas plant.

This scheme can prove to be a milestone in the direction of women empowerment. Women Self -Help Group (SHG) and FPO (Farmer Producer Organizations) will also be added to this scheme, so that they such as organic products:

In the meeting, Padma Shri Dr. Bharat Bhushan Tyagi suggested that organic offerings should be distributed in major temples of the state. This will give farmers a new market and the demand for organic products will also increase.
