A video of a policeman threatening and verbally abusing a petrol pump salesman has gone viral on social media. According to reports, the incident occurred in the Kairana Kotwali area of Shamli district, where Constable Manish Kumar was caught on camera hurling abuses and threatening to shoot the salesman, identified as Aftab.

As per the viral video, the incident took place on November 22 around 10:30 a.m.

In the video, Constable Manish Kumar can be heard saying, “Ye mere sath jayega bhos***.” He further threatens Aftab, saying he would shoot him in the leg and implicate him in a cow slaughter case.

As soon as the video surfaced online, senior police officials took swift action against the constable.

According to the Hindi newspaper Dainik Bhaskar, Manish Kumar has been suspended. The viral video has triggered widespread reactions on social media, with many criticising the misuse of police authority.

According to Station House Officer (SHO) Karan, the incident occurred when Manish Kumar visited the petrol pump to investigate a prior complaint against Aftab. The salesman had already been accused in an earlier case involving a dispute. During the interaction, a heated argument broke out between the two, during which Manish Kumar misused his authority by abusing and threatening Aftab.

In the video, the constable is seen using his uniform as a means to intimidate Aftab, issuing threats of violence. This behavior has raised concerns within the police administration, prompting immediate action. SHO Karan acknowledged that the constable’s actions were inappropriate and confirmed that an internal inquiry is underway to ensure accountability.
