Lucknow: The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh will present the state budget in both houses of the Legislature on 20 February 2025. The size of this budget is estimated to be around Rs 8 lakh crore and priority will be given to development and public welfare schemes.

Budget session approved in cabinet meeting

This decision was taken at the meeting of the State Council of Ministers held at the Chief Minister’s residence under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday. The budget session will start from 18 February.

  • 12 proposals were made in the cabinet meeting, out of which 11 were approved.
  • Parliamentary and Finance Minister Suresh Khanna reviewed the budget preparations with the Finance Department officials at Lok Bhavan on Thursday.
  • Additional Chief Secretary Finance Deepak Kumar and other senior officials were present in the meeting.

The government directed the officials to finalize the budget as soon as possible so that it can be introduced at the right time.
