On Sunday, a robbery took place in the Indian Overseas Bank of Lucknow. Seven thieves carried out this theft. For two hours they broke and stole 42 lockers. In this case, two accused thieves had escaped from the police and both the accused were killed in a police encounter. One thief was encountered in Ghazipur and the other in Lucknow.
There was a clash between two criminals in the Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) theft case in Gomtinagar, Lucknow. One criminal is in Ghazipur and the other is in Lucknow. Both the miscreants were killed by police bullets in the encounter. There was an encounter with criminal Sunny Dayal, a resident of Bihar, in Ghazipur on Tuesday morning. There was an encounter with the second criminal Sobind Kumar late on Monday night. He was undergoing treatment at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. But he also died on Tuesday morning.
A reward of Rs 25-25 thousand was announced on both the miscreants. Seven thieves committed the theft. Now two of them have died. Further police action is ongoing. According to the information, Bara outpost in-charge stopped two suspects riding a motorcycle during checking. Both got scared and started running towards Bihar border. Then he had an encounter with the police. When the police chased them, the miscreants started firing.
The police also retaliated. One miscreant got shot, due to which he fell. The second criminal escaped taking advantage of the darkness. The injured miscreant has been identified as Sunnydayal. A pistol, live cartridges, some jewelery stolen from the bank and Rs 35500 in cash were recovered from him. The injured criminal was taken to CHC Bhadaura. But seeing his serious condition, he was referred to Ghazipur District Hospital. Here the doctors declared him dead. The criminal was a resident of Munger in Bihar.

DCP Shashank Singh said- DCP’s crime team was combing on Tuesday morning. Just then a Swift car was coming fast. When the police tried to stop them, one of them opened fire on the police. The police retaliated, in which one criminal was injured. While another had fled from the spot. The arrested accused was identified as Sobind Kumar. A huge quantity of white and yellow metal was recovered from him. The injured was sent to the hospital but he died during treatment there. The body of the accused has been sent for post-mortem.
The theft was committed within 2 hours
On December 22, thieves had fled from the Chinhat branch of the Indian Overseas Bank after stealing jewelery and other items worth crores. The thief stayed in the bank for 2 hours. Four thieves committed the theft. Whereas, three were standing outside watching everything. According to the police, four thieves broke the wall in the Indian Overseas Bank and reached the bank locker. After this they cut 42 lockers with an electric cutter and looted jewelery and documents worth crores of rupees. Thieves committed this crime on Sunday. Because banks are closed on Sundays. In such a situation, the thieves broke the wall from the vacant plot near the bank.
42 lockers were found chopped
When a shopkeeper went to the plot on Sunday, he found the wall cut. After this he informed the police. Police reached the spot and when they checked inside the bank, 42 out of 90 lockers were found mutilated. This locker contained jewelery and documents worth crores of rupees. After this, when the police started investigation, it was found that there was only one CCTV camera installed in the entire bank. DCP Shashank Singh said that 8 teams including the crime branch of the police were formed to catch the thieves.
