Mumbai: The state government has now decided to include civil security courses in the course of Mumbai University. This decision has been taken in view of the recent tension between India and Pakistan.

Realizing the important role of civil security between the current war between India and Pakistan, the state government is trying to strengthen the civil security agency by solving issues ranging from low daily allowances to insufficient sirens and ambulances.

For this, the Directorate of Civil Protection of Civil Protection of Mumbai has recently signed a memorandum of understanding. In which the inclusion of civil security courses in educational courses was finalized. The course will be taught in all engineering colleges affiliated to the University of Mumbai and 25 marks will be fixed for it.

Students who want to serve the country along with their education will get opportunities through this syllabus. In which students will be trained to save rescue operations and lives during emergency. They will also be ready to work with government and municipal agencies such as disaster management cells, fire departments and hospitals, especially in situations like emergency and war. After organizing mock drills in coastal districts and Pune, Nashik and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, more emphasis has been laid on civil security.

The purpose of this practice was to create awareness among the volunteers and the general public. This mock drill was attended by about 10,000 volunteers of civil defense, home guard, NDRF and other emergency response agencies.

An official said that the government is taking appropriate steps to strengthen civil security and it is being revived. Civil security courses have been facing lack of manpower, vehicle, sirens and training equipment for a long time. However, these requirements are likely to be met soon.

In which, despite the 420 employees approved for civil defense, only 135 employees are being run in the entire state. In addition, there is only one civil security personnel in Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg. Civil protection also requires ambulances and vehicles in emergency time. However, many vehicles were currently seen in poor condition. Currently volunteers get Rs 150 per day to serve them. This amount has also been increased to Rs 10 lakh. A proposal to increase it to Rs 25 lakh has also been sent to the government. 500 per day.
