A shocking video of a school student driving a Mahindra XUV700 (MH04LX8080) with five of his friends onboard has gone viral, sparking widespread debate on road safety and parental responsibility.

The video, recorded by a fellow commuter Anup Kemkar near Kavesar, Anand Nagar, outside New Horizon School in Thane, initially looked like regular traffic footage but soon revealed a kid driving the vehicle. Yes, you read that right! It showed a young boy handling the steering and controlling the car, leaving viewers stunned.

The student, wearing spectacles and a school uniform, was seen navigating through traffic with schoolmates in the vehicle. Most of the children were in uniforms, except for one, who was spotted wearing goggles and casual attire.

Instagram page ‘Safe Cars’ shared the video with an overlaid text reading “BAD PARENTING.”

Sticking out of the sunroof

The caption shared further details and pointed out that some of the children were sticking out of the sunroof, prompting the recorder to warn them for their safety. The post read, “A few of them were sticking out of the sunroof. I yelled at them for their safety. There were around 5-6 students in the car. Parents should be held responsible for this.”

Incident sparks outrage

The viral footage has sparked a wave of reactions online, with netizens questioning how parents allowed the kids to take the car out on the streets without adult supervision. Internet users demanded police action in this matter, emphasising the dangers posed by underage driving.

People widely shared the post condemning the kids’ reckless act. “This is extremely unsafe”, they wrote.
