Sambhajinagar: Unidentified Man Fires At Real Estate Professional In Nawabpura; Police Investigating Property Dispute Link |

An unidentified man fired a round at a young motorcyclist in the Nawabpura area on Wednesday at around 4 am. The motorcyclist was saved as the aim missed the target. However, the sound of the firing in the wee hours created a sensation in the entire Nawabpura area.

Habib Mohammad Salim Qazi (33, Nawabpura), a real estate professional, owns around 100 ancestral shops that he had given on rent. On Wednesday at around 4 am, he had gone to bring toasts for Saheri, as the pious month of Ramzan is ongoing. While returning, a 6-feet-high man covering his face with a handkerchief stopped him and started abusing him. He then took out a pistol from his pocket and fired at Habib. However, he was saved as the shooter missed the target. The shooter then fled from the scene.

Habib was completely terrified and immediately informed the Jinsi police. The police then visited and inspected the spot. The forensic team and a dog squad were also called. A used cartridge was found at the spot.

Based on the complaint lodged by Habib, a case has been registered at the Jinsi police station. In his complaint, Habib mentioned that he had a quarrel with Naser Syed Rauf over a property dispute, and he believed Rauf had planned the attack. The police are investigating this angle.

Meanwhile, the police have established seven teams and are investigating from various angles. The seized bullet is a 7 mm cartridge fired from a country-made pistol, the police opined.
