Under Construction Bridge Collapses In South Korea; 3 Dead, 5 Injured (Screengrab) | X

Seoul: At least three workers lost their lives after an under-construction bridge collapsed in South Korea on Tuesday, news agency Yonhap reported. The tragic incident was recorded on camera and soon the video went viral on social media. According to reports, five workers were also injured in the collapse.

The incident took place at around 9:50 am (local time) on the Seoul-Sejong highway in Cheonan. After receiving the information, emergency services rushed to the spot and started a rescue operation.

Several people are still reportedly missing. In the visuals which surfaced online, it could be seen that the steel support of the bridge collapsed. A massive cloud of smoke could also be seen after the bridge collapsed.

Acting President Choi Sang-mok ordered authorities to deploy all the resources required for the rescue operation.

An investigation has reportedly been launched into the incident to know the reason for the collapse.
