Now you can book Dal Lake Shikara right from the comfort of your home. App-based cab booking company Uber has expanded its services. The company has started water transport booking service. The company has launched Uber Shikara service. Through this service, passengers can pre-book the hunt through the app. However, the company has started this service for some time. Its aim is to help the tourists who come to see the beauty of Dal Lake during the holiday season in Shikara booking.

Ride-hailing service provider Uber, Asia’s first water transportation service

Launched its first water transport service in India. Uber users can book Shikara rides to Dal Lake in Srinagar through its app. The initiative is the company’s first water-based offering in Asia. Previously, the company operated in European locations such as Venice, Italy. To launch the service, Uber has partnered with seven Shikara operators and plans to gradually increase the fleet based on user demand.

Customers can enjoy rides at government-approved rates, with the entire fare going directly to the Shikara operators, as Uber does not charge any commission. Each Shikara ride can accommodate a maximum of four passengers and lasts for one hour. Booking is available from Shikara Ghat No. 16 from 10 am to 5 pm. Users can schedule their rides up to 12 hours in advance or up to 15 days in advance, giving Uber users a better travel experience.

This innovative move by Uber not only enhances its service portfolio but also promotes domestic tourism. The company said, “We are very excited to bring Uber to Srinagar. Through Uber Shikara, one of our efforts is to facilitate passengers to book Shikara through the app. There is also a huge influx of foreign tourists. A trip to Dal Lake is incomplete without this app, which will allow passengers to book rides 12 hours in advance, eliminating any hassles regarding rates and also providing business opportunities to drivers.
