Bhind (Madhya Pradesh): Two young men died on the spot after a dumper truck hit their bike in Bhind on Tuesday.

In anger, the relatives blocked the main junction in Gohad for three hours to protest.

The accident occurred in the Gohad police area.

The victims, Prince Jatav and Rahul Pal, worked in tent decoration. They were going from Gohad bus stand toward Atal Gate when a dumper filled with black gravel struck them from behind.

The families of the victims accused the police of negligence, saying the dumper driver fled the scene with the vehicle.

After the accident, police asked the families to get the bodies sent for postmortem and register an FIR. But the families insisted that the dumper and driver be caught first.

This led to a heated argument between the police station in-charge Manish Dhakad and the families.

The protesters said the police could have caught the vehicle within an hour but are protecting the accused.

They also claimed that police usually collect illegal money from dumper drivers and know all the vehicles well.

Police officer Manish Dhakad said the families were first asked to register the FIR and send the bodies for postmortem. He added that the police are still searching for the vehicle and further action is ongoing.
