Pune Viral Video: Two-Wheeler Jumps Signal, Gets Hit By SUV; Netizens Say, ‘Welcome To Bihar’ | Video Screengrab
Punekars and traffic rules often seem to be at odds. From not wearing helmets while riding bikes to driving on footpaths during traffic jams, the citizens of Pune, the cultural city of Maharashtra, have gained the reputation for frequently flouting traffic regulations.
In one such incident, a biker jumped a signal and was hit by a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) recently. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media. As seen in the video, despite being at fault, the biker is seen arguing with the SUV driver, who in turn, is seen nudging the biker with his vehicle.
An X user posted the video on the microblogging site and wrote, “Welcome to Bihar….sorry Pune! Your safety is in God’s hand now! Ramming a two-wheeler because he broke the signal!”
Meanwhile, netizens had mixed reactions to this video. Some said the biker shouldn’t have jumped the signal, while others commented that the SUV driver went a little too far by nudging the biker.
“Not condoning deliberate dashing the two-wheeler, but signal jumping is just as grave an offense. Anyway, what’s most evident is the pathetic state of law enforcement in the city,” a user wrote.
“He should be thankful that he is alive and in one piece for doing such stupid stunts on a two-wheeler,” commented another user.
“Why are you tarnishing the image of the other state. Bihar is improving, please have some respect,” said a third user.
“Two-wheeler’s fault. As a four-wheeler driver myself, I am also fed up with these signal jumpers, they don’t care about their lives and our cars,” a fourth user stated.
