Pune: Two Habitual Burglars Arrested, Stolen Goods Worth ₹4.66 Lakh Recovered |
Ambegaon Police in Pune have arrested two habitual burglars involved in a series of house breaks across the city over the last few months. The arrests of the accused led to the solving of four major theft cases and the recovery of stolen property valued at ₹4,66,000.
The accused have been identified as Ayush Sanjay Kharat (20), a resident of Sukhsagar Nagar, and Aryan Kailas Agalave (19), a resident of Gokulnagar, Pune.
According to the police, the incident that triggered the investigation occurred on March 16, 2025, around 3:00 AM, when a house was broken into at Santoshmata Mandir, Tirupati Colony. A case was registered at the Ambegaon Police Station under Sections 305(A), 331(3), and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Acting on a confidential tip-off, Police Constables Hanmant Masal and Chetan Gore, under the guidance of Police Sub-Inspector Mohan Kalamkar, launched a targeted investigation and apprehended the suspects. During the investigation, the police recovered a substantial amount of stolen goods, including 22 grams of gold ornaments, four laptops, a motorcycle, and an auto rickshaw—amounting to a total value of ₹4,66,000.
Multiple theft cases lodged
Sharad Zine, Senior Police Inspector of Ambegaon Police Station, speaking to FPJ, said, “Following their arrest, the police were able to open the linked cases against them. It was also revealed that accused Aryan Agalave was already wanted in previous housebreaking cases in the Kondhwa and Market Yard areas.”
Multiple theft cases have been lodged against them in various police stations, including Ambegaon Police Station, Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station, and Market Yard Police Station.
